Test RightNow on Android

RightNow is on Google Play, but it's in a closed test — so you can't search for it and install it. Your email has to be on a list first, and I add it by hand.

Why I'm asking

Google's rule for a solo developer like me is that twelve people have to be in a closed test, on the app, for fourteen days in a row before it's allowed onto the open Play Store. That's the entire reason this page exists. I'm not there yet.

What you'd be signing up for

Open the app now and then over a fortnight and actually use it if you can — Google can tell the difference between a real tester and an install sitting untouched on a shelf. Then tell me what's confusing or broken. That's the whole job. No calls, no feedback forms, no NDA.

What you need

What happens after you sign up

  1. You get a confirmation email. Click the link in it, or your address never reaches me.
  2. I add you to the tester list in the Play Console.
  3. Google emails you an opt-in link. Accept it, then install RightNow from Play like any other app.
  4. Updates arrive the normal way, through Play.

Step two is me, at a keyboard, so give it a day or two.

Fair warning

It's a test build. Things will be rough in places and I'll be shipping changes while you're using it. If something goes wrong, Settings → Help & About → Send feedback comes straight to me, and several things in the app exist because a tester complained about them first.

Not on Android?

The web app is live and needs no account to start, so you can use RightNow today without any of the above. iOS is on TestFlight — email me and I'll add you to that instead.

Questions about what the app actually does are answered in the FAQ, and what happens to your data is in the privacy policy.
